Target Information
FceR1 (Fc epsilonR1 alpha) is a subunit of the high-affinity receptor for IgE. It forms a tetrameric complex consisting of one alpha, one beta, and two additional subunits required for signal transduction. This receptor plays a key role in allergic responses by mediating the release of histamine and other mediators when allergen-bound IgE molecules crosslink the receptors. It is critical in the initiation of inflammatory responses associated with allergic diseases such as hay fever and asthma.
