Target Information
FLT3 is a tyrosine protein kinase that belongs to the growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase family. The receptor is activated by binding of the FLT3 ligand to the extracellular domain, inducing homodimer formation and autophosphorylation. Activated FLT3 phosphorylates and activates multiple cytoplasmic effector molecules involved in apoptosis, proliferation, and differentiation of hematopoietic cells. Mutations causing constitutive activation of FLT3 are associated with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
