Product Specific Information
This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. These systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.
Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies:
- High specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulation
- Broad immunoreactivity due to large rabbit immune repertoire
This antibody has specificity for Human Cadherin-8 (CDH8).
Target Information
CDH8 (Cadherin-8) is a type II classical cadherin from the cadherin superfamily, which mediates calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion. Mature cadherin proteins consist of:
- A large N-terminal extracellular domain
- A single membrane-spanning domain
- A small, conserved C-terminal cytoplasmic domain
The extracellular domain has five cadherin motifs that determine homophilic adhesion specificity. Type II cadherins lack the HAV recognition sequence found in type I cadherins. CDH8 is expressed in the brain and is implicated in synaptic adhesion, axon outgrowth, and guidance.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
