SNAPIN은 SNARE 복합체와 BLOC-1 복합체에 결합하는 코일드 코일 구조 단백질로, 소포의 도킹 및 융합 과정, 신경전달물질 방출 조절에 필수적입니다. 또한 멜라노솜 및 혈소판 밀집 과립과 같은 특수 세포소기관의 생합성에 관여합니다. BLOC-1 관련 유전자 변이는 Hermansky-Pudlak 증후군 모델 마우스에서 확인되었습니다. 대체 스플라이싱으로 여러 전사 변형이 존재합니다.
