Target Information

BTLA (B and T-lymphocyte attenuator) is a co-inhibitory receptor belonging to the CD28 superfamily. It functions as a lymphocyte inhibitory receptor, modulating immune responses by inhibiting lymphocyte activation.
BTLA is constitutively expressed on most CD4+ and CD8+ T cells, with expression decreasing upon activation. It remains expressed on Th1 but not Th2 cells.
BTLA interacts with HVEM (herpesvirus entry mediator), a TNF receptor superfamily member, forming a key regulatory pathway for lymphocyte activation and immune homeostasis.
