이 수용체군은 세포 증식, 분화, 생존 및 세포골격 관련 반응(수축, 분비, 부착, 화학주성 등)에 관여하며, 발달 단계 및 조직 분포에 따라 다르게 조절됩니다.
EDG6 (S1P4)는 림프조직, 조혈조직 및 폐에서 발현되며, 현재는 sphingosine 1-phosphate receptor-4 (S1P4)로 명명됩니다.
