Target Information
PEX14 belongs to the peroxin 14 family and is a component of the peroxisomal translocation machinery along with PEX13 and PEX17. It interacts with both PTS1 and PTS2 receptors and binds directly to PEX17. Defects in PEX14 are associated with peroxisome biogenesis disorder complementation group K (PBD-CGK) and Zellweger syndrome (ZWS).
