Target Information
Cyclins are regulatory subunits of cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) that control transitions at specific phases of the cell cycle. Their temporal expression is tightly regulated and plays a key role in controlling CDK enzymatic activity. Cyclin/CDK complexes are essential for progression through distinct cell cycle stages. In mammalian somatic cells, Cyclin A is required for S phase and passage through G2-phase.
