Target Information
Calreticulin (Calr) is a calcium-binding chaperone that promotes folding, oligomeric assembly, and quality control in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) via the calreticulin/calnexin cycle. It transiently interacts with monoglucosylated glycoproteins synthesized in the ER and also binds the DNA-binding domain of NR3C1, mediating nuclear export. Calr may play a role in maternal gene expression regulation and oocyte maturation through calcium homeostasis regulation.
