Target Information
Caspase-14는 cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase) 계열의 구성원으로, 세포 자멸사(apoptosis)의 실행 단계에서 중심적인 역할을 합니다. Caspases는 비활성 전구체 형태로 존재하며, 보존된 aspartic 잔기에서 절단되어 큰 소단위와 작은 소단위로 나뉘어 활성 효소를 형성합니다.
이 caspase는 in vitro에서 caspase 8 및 caspase 10에 의해 처리되어 활성화되며, in vivo에서는 anti-Fas agonist antibody 또는 TNF-related apoptosis inducing ligand에 의해 활성화됩니다.
Caspase-14의 발현 및 처리 과정은 각질형성세포의 최종 분화에 관여하며, 이는 피부 장벽 형성에 중요합니다.
CASP14 관련 질환으로는 Ichthyosis, Congenital, Autosomal Recessive 12 및 Autosomal Recessive Congenital Ichthyosis가 보고되어 있습니다.
