Target Information
NUDT5 is an enzyme that can act as an ADP-sugar pyrophosphatase or catalyze ATP synthesis in the presence of diphosphate.
In the absence of diphosphate, it hydrolyzes modified nucleoside diphosphates such as ADP-ribose, ADP-mannose, ADP-glucose, 8-oxo-GDP, and 8-oxo-dGDP.
In the presence of diphosphate, it mediates nuclear ATP synthesis by converting ADP-ribose to ATP and ribose 5-phosphate.
Nuclear ATP generation is required for chromatin remodeling events.
NUDT5 does not play a role in U8 snoRNA decapping activity but binds U8 snoRNA.
