Target Information

SNRPA1 (U2 snRNP-A) is located on gene locus 15q26.3 and encodes a 28 kDa protein. It is a specific component of the U2 snRNP particle, containing a unique N-terminal leucine-rich region and a hydrophobic RNA-binding C-terminal region. Unlike other RNA-binding proteins, it lacks RNP1 and RNP2 motifs. SNRPA1 associates with U2 snRNP and plays roles in transcription and pre-mRNA splicing, potentially influencing cell division and proliferation. Autoantibodies against snRNP particles are often found in patients with connective tissue disorders.
