Target Information
The MEF2A protein is part of the structural maintenance of chromosomes (SMC) family, which plays a critical role in chromosome structural changes. SMC proteins are involved in the proper condensation and segregation of mitotic chromosomes. Four human SMC proteins form two distinct heterodimeric complexes:
- hCAP-C/hCAP-E (chromosome-associated protein complex)
- hSMC1/hSMC3 complex
