This antibody recognizes Somali wild ass (Equus asinus) but not Grevy’s Zebra (E. grevyi) or Hartmann’s Mountain Zebra (E. zebra).
Reconstitute with 1.0 mL distilled water before use.
Target Information
The CD4 antigen is involved in the recognition of MHC class II molecules and acts as a co-receptor for HIV. CD4 is mainly expressed in T-helper lymphocytes, but also in monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.
CD4 expression is found in thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and certain brain and gut regions. It plays a key role in T-cell activation by associating with the T-cell receptor complex and kinase Lck.
CD4 may also mediate neuronal damage in infectious and immune-mediated CNS diseases. Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts have been identified (RefSeq, July 2017).
