Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Directed against human MEK2 protein. Cross-reactivity is expected to occur with human, mouse, and rat based on sequence identity of the peptide immunogen. This antibody does not react with the MEK1 isoform.
Target Information
MAP2K2 (MEK2) is a dual specificity serine/threonine kinase involved in mitogen growth factor signal transduction. It is part of a family of tyrosine/threonine protein kinases that activate ERK1/2 and MAPK enzymes by phosphorylating residues within the TEY motif in the activation loop. MEK1 and MEK2 are activated by dual phosphorylation on serine 218 and 222. Threonine 292 of MEK1 is phosphorylated by ERK2, forming a negative feedback loop that suppresses MEK1 activation.
