Target Information
Bone marrow stromal cell antigen 1 (BST1), also known as CD157, ADP-rybosyl cyclase 2, and DAMP-1, is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored molecule derived from stromal cells that facilitates pre-B cell growth. BST1 expression is enhanced in bone marrow stromal cell lines from patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The polyclonal B cell abnormalities in rheumatoid arthritis may be partly attributed to BST1 overexpression in the stromal cell population.
