Target Information
TNFRSF14 is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. It acts as a cellular mediator of herpes simplex virus (HSV) entry through binding of HSV envelope glycoprotein D (gD). The cytoplasmic region of TNFRSF14 interacts with TRAF family members, mediating signal transduction pathways that activate immune responses.
Activation of TNFRSF14 signaling in T cells promotes T cell proliferation and cytokine production, contributing to inflammation and CTL-mediated tumor immunity. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described, though some full-length forms remain undetermined.
