Target Information
SLIT and NTRK-like family 3 (Slitrk3) is part of a protein family (Slitrk1–6) with two conserved leucine-rich repeat domains in the extracellular region and homology to Slit, a secreted axonal growth-controlling protein. These proteins also share homology with trk neurotrophin receptors in their intracellular domains. Expression of Slitrk proteins is largely restricted to neural and brain tumor tissues. Overexpression of Slitrk3, like other Slitrk proteins except Slitrk1, inhibits neurite outgrowth in cultured neurons, suggesting a role in neurite outgrowth regulation.
