Target Information

TLR7 is a highly conserved membrane protein belonging to the Toll-like receptor (TLR) family, characterized by 27 leucine-rich repeats (LRR) and a TIR domain. It plays a key role in pathogen recognition and activation of innate immunity.

TLR7 is activated by single-stranded RNA viruses such as influenza and vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV). It is predominantly expressed in lung, placenta, and spleen, and is located near TLR8.

Through MyD88 and TRAF6, TLR7 signaling leads to NF-kappaB activation, cytokine secretion, and inflammatory response. It recognizes pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) on infectious agents and mediates cytokine production essential for effective immunity.
