Target Information

RIPK3 is a member of the receptor-interacting protein (RIP) family of serine/threonine protein kinases, containing a unique C-terminal domain. It is predominantly localized to the cytoplasm and mitochondria, capable of nucleocytoplasmic shuttling via nuclear localization and export signals. RIPK3 is part of the TNF receptor-I signaling complex and can induce apoptosis while weakly activating NF-kappaB. Caspase-8 prevents RIPK3-dependent necrosis by forming a proteolytically active complex with CFLAR, essential for its protective function.
