Target Information
MPP10 (M-phase phosphoprotein 10), also known as MPHOSPH10, is a 681 amino acid protein localized to the fibrillar region of the nucleolus. It is phosphorylated during the M phase of the cell cycle and is a component of the 60–80S U3 small nucleolar ribonucleoprotein (U3 snoRNP) complex, essential for early pre-18S rRNA processing. MPP10 forms a heterotrimeric complex with IMP-3 and IMP-4, facilitating nucleolar association. The MPP10 gene is located on human chromosome 2, which contains over 500 genes. Mutations in genes on this chromosome are associated with disorders such as Phelan-McDermid syndrome, Neurofibromatosis type 2, autism, and schizophrenia.
