Product Specific Information

Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge if not clear after standing at room temperature. Stable for several weeks at 4°C as undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

Anti-Histone H3 [Sym-dimethyl Arg2, Dimethyl Lys4] reacts with human Histone H3.2. BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with Human, Mouse, and C. elegans. Predicted to react with Rat, Chicken, Xenopus, Drosophila, and Plant based on 100% sequence homology. Cross-reactivity with Histone H3 from other sources has not been determined.

Target Information

Histone H3 is a DNA-binding protein found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Together with four core histone proteins, it forms the nucleosome structure. Histones are central to transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability. The N-terminal tail of histone H3 undergoes various post-translational modifications such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation, influencing chromatin structure and gene expression.
