Product Specific Information
- Antibody tested in direct ELISA.
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Dystrophin is a 427 kDa protein encoded by the DMD/BMD gene located on the X chromosome (Xp21). Western blotting and immunohistochemistry are established methods for detecting dystrophin expression abnormalities in muscle biopsies. Dystrophin abnormalities are observed in nearly all DMD/BMD patients, although genetic mutations may be detected in only about 65% of cases.
