Target Information
This protein is involved in determining which thoracic imaginal disk cells form wings and halteres, possibly through interaction with other nuclear regulatory proteins. In combination with scalloped (sd), it functions as a transcriptional activation complex regulating gene expression in the wing. Binding to sd modifies DNA target selectivity. It is required and sufficient for cell proliferation at the dorsal/ventral (D/V) boundary of the wing imaginal disk and also contributes to proliferation via activation of E2f. Interaction with Dhfr may regulate genes involved in DNA replication.
