Target Information
GBP1 (Guanlyate Binding Protein 1) is a 68 kDa GTPase belonging to the GTPase1 family. Its expression is induced by interferon-γ and other inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1α, IL-1β, and TNF-α. GBP1 induction by poly I:C and dependency on NF-κB and IFNα response elements suggest involvement in the TLR signaling pathway. GBP1 negatively correlates with MMP-1 expression and cell adhesion/migration, indicating a role in suppressing angiogenesis and endothelial cell migration. It functions as a regulatory molecule in inflammatory and cell migration signal transduction networks.
