Target Information
The genes for all four subunits of the T-cell antigen receptor (alpha, beta, gamma, and delta) are regulated by distinct enhancers and their binding proteins. GATA3, identified as a common TCR enhancer-binding protein, binds to enhancer elements of all four TCR genes. It contains a zinc finger domain and is abundantly expressed in T-lymphocytes, contributing to T-cell receptor gene activation. The human GATA3 gene consists of six exons over 17 kb, with zinc finger domains encoded by conserved exons similar to GATA1.
