Target Information
HSPBAP1 (HSPB-associated protein 1), also known as PASS1, is a 488 amino acid cytoplasmic protein containing one JMJC (Jumonji C) domain. It shares 80% identity with its rat homolog PASS1 and is widely expressed, with highest levels in ovary, thymus, and pancreas. HSPBAP1 is involved in cellular stress responses and may participate in chromatin remodeling. Genetic defects or translocations in HSPBAP1 are associated with renal cell carcinoma 1 (RCC1). Three isoforms exist due to alternative splicing.
