Product Specific Information

The HIB19 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD19, a 95 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on B cells during all developmental stages except plasma cells. Follicular dendritic cells also express CD19. CD19 forms a multimolecular complex with CD21, CD81, Leu13, and MHC class II, associating with the BCR to mediate signaling, tyrosine phosphorylation, calcium flux, and B cell proliferation. The SJ25C1 and HIB19 antibodies recognize overlapping epitopes.

Important:
NovaFluor dyes are incompatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI). Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains instead.

Target Information

CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on all peripheral B cells and some myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 is a key regulator of B cell proliferation and differentiation, acting as a co-receptor with the BCR to amplify antigen-dependent signaling. Mutations in CD19 can cause hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression leads to B cell hyperactivity.
