Description:
The eBioBV13 (BV13) monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse VE-Cadherin (CD144). VE-Cadherin is a 120 kDa member of the type II Cadherin family, characterized by five extracellular cadherin domains (ECD) and linkage to the actin cytoskeleton via its cytoplasmic tail. It mediates homophilic adhesion between neighboring endothelial cells and localizes to adherens junctions. VE-Cadherin is expressed throughout the vasculature and is essential for endothelial migration, survival, contact-dependent growth inhibition, and tube formation. VE-Cadherin⁺CD45⁻ cells from yolk sac or AGM may give rise to hematopoietic cells.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometry using bEnd.3 cells. Recommended ≤ 0.125 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal titration should be determined empirically.
Light Sensitivity:
This tandem dye is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect from light.
Fixation:
Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333-54) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal impact on brightness and FRET efficiency. Clone-specific performance should be determined empirically.

488–561 nm / 775 nm

Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
VE-cadherin is a calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion glycoprotein encoded on chromosome 16, part of the cadherin superfamily. It contains five extracellular cadherin repeats, a transmembrane region, and a conserved cytoplasmic tail. It mediates homophilic adhesion and regulates endothelial cell junction organization. An alternative splice variant exists, though the full-length sequence is not completely determined.
