Product Specific Information

The RPA-2.10 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD2, a 50 kDa cell surface receptor expressed by most thymocytes, all mature T cells, and a subset of NK cells. CD2 binds CD58 and plays a key role in T-cell adhesion and activation. The RPA-2.10 clone can block mixed lymphocyte reactions and cross-reacts with non-human primates and pigs.

Target Information

CD2 (LFA-2) is a monomeric surface antigen (45–58 kDa) expressed on human T lymphocytes and NK cells, but not on B cells. It mediates adhesion via CD58 interaction, stabilizing T cell–APC contact. CD2 expression increases upon T cell activation, enhancing adhesion and signaling. CD2 deficiency is linked to immune dysfunction and certain carcinomas.
