Product Specific Information

The HIR2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human glycophorin A, a sialoglycoprotein expressed by erythroid precursors and mature circulating red cells.
Each product contains 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate and 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer.

Applications Reported: Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended use: 5 µL (0.015 µg) per test. A test is defined as the amount that stains a cell sample in 100 µL volume (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes such as propidium iodide, 7-AAD, and DAPI. Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for viability assessment.

This conjugate ships with CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01), which offers improved formulation over CellBlox.
Use 5 µL of CellBlox Plus per sample for optimal staining. For single-color controls, use 5 µL per 100 µL of cell sample (10³–10⁸ cells).

NovaFluor conjugates utilize Phiton™ technology, providing engineered fluorescent signatures optimized for minimal spillover and spread.

Target Information

CD235a (Glycophorin A, GPA) is a single-pass membrane sialoglycoprotein expressed in mature erythrocytes and erythroid precursor cells.
It carries the M and N blood group antigens and forms a mucin-like barrier preventing red cell aggregation.
CD235a also acts as a receptor for Sandei virus, parvovirus, and Hsa (Streptococcus adhesin).
