Product Specific Information

The HIR2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human glycophorin A, a sialoglycoprotein expressed by erythroid precursors and mature circulating red cells.
Each product contains one vial of NovaFluor conjugate and one vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested on normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended use at 5 µL (0.015 µg) per test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes such as propidium iodide, 7-AAD, or DAPI.
Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for viability assays.

This conjugate ships with CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01), which improves staining performance compared to the original CellBlox buffer.
Add 5 µL per sample to antibody cocktails prior to mixing with cells. For single-color controls, use 5 µL per 100 µL cell sample (10³–10⁸ cells).

Target Information

CD235a (Glycophorin A, GPA) is a single-pass membrane sialoglycoprotein expressed in mature erythrocytes and erythroid precursor cells.
It carries blood group M and N specificities and contributes to preventing red blood cell aggregation.
CD235a also functions as a receptor for Sandei virus, parvovirus, and Streptococcus adhesin Hsa.
