Product Description

Bacillus cereus is a rod-shaped, gram-positive bacterium. Some strains of B. cereus cause food poisoning and other diseases such as keratitis. B. cereus grows at a wide range of temperatures, from 4°C to 37°C. Many foodborne illnesses caused by B. cereus result from improperly cooked or stored food, including dairy products and meats. The majority of B. cereus food poisoning can be divided into two symptom types – emetic and diarrheal – both caused by enterotoxins produced by the bacteria.

Storage Conditions

The Bacillus cereus TaqMan PCR Kit Dx is shipped on dry ice.
All components should be stored at -20°C upon arrival.
Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles (>3x) of the Master Mix and Positive Control.
If used intermittently, aliquot and freeze reagents accordingly.
