Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information

ATP citrate lyase is the primary enzyme responsible for the synthesis of cytosolic acetyl-CoA in many tissues. It is a tetramer (approx. 440 kDa) composed of identical subunits. The enzyme catalyzes the formation of acetyl-CoA and oxaloacetate from citrate and CoA with the hydrolysis of ATP to ADP and phosphate. Acetyl-CoA produced serves key biosynthetic pathways, including lipogenesis and cholesterogenesis. In nervous tissue, ATP citrate lyase may contribute to acetylcholine biosynthesis. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.
