Target Information
Thyroid Peroxidase(TPO)는 막 결합형 당단백질로, 갑상선 기능 유지에 필수적인 효소입니다.
이 단백질은 thyroglobulin 내의 티로신 잔기를 요오드화하고, 요오드화된 티로신 간의 페녹시 에스터 결합을 형성하여 thyroxine(T4) 및 triiodothyronine(T3) 생성에 관여합니다.
TPO 유전자 변이는 선천성 갑상선기능저하증, 선천성 갑상선종, 갑상선 호르몬 합성 결함(IIA형) 등과 관련이 있습니다.
여러 전사 변이체가 보고되어 있으나, 일부의 전장 서열은 완전히 규명되지 않았습니다.
