YAP (Yes-Associated Protein)은 WW domain family의 구성원으로, 전사 공동활성화 인자이자 종양유전자입니다. 이 유전자는 편평상피암 세포에서 전사적으로 활성화되며, 공동활성화자와 공동억제자로 작용할 수 있습니다. YAP은 Hippo 신호전달 경로의 주요 하위 조절 타깃으로, 세포 증식 억제 및 세포자멸사를 촉진하여 장기 크기 조절과 종양 억제에 중요한 역할을 합니다. 또한 조직 장력, 3D 조직 형태, 세포 증식, 사멸, 이동 등 다양한 생물학적 과정에 관여합니다. IRF5 유전자 변이는 coloboma를 유발할 수 있습니다.
