Target Information
PCSK9 (Proprotein Convertase Subtilisin/Kexin Type 9) is a member of the proteinase K subfamily of the secretory subtilase family. It is synthesized as a soluble zymogen that undergoes autocatalytic processing in the endoplasmic reticulum. PCSK9 plays an important role in cholesterol homeostasis and may also be involved in the differentiation of cortical neurons.
