Target Information
Dorsal neural-tube nuclear protein (DNTNP) is a 398-amino-acid nuclear protein believed to play an essential role in neural development by specifying dorsal cell fates within the neural tube. It is highly expressed in the dorsal regions of the midbrain, hindbrain, diencephalon, and spinal neural tube, and at lower levels in the branchial arches, telencephalon, heart, and somites of developing embryos.
The DNTNP gene is located on chromosome 4, which also contains the Huntingtin gene associated with Huntington’s disease.
