ASPP2는 세포사멸(apoptosis) 및 세포 성장 조절에 중심적인 역할을 하는 조절 단백질입니다.
TP53의 DNA 결합 및 전사활성 기능을 강화하여 세포사멸 관련 유전자의 발현을 조절합니다.
APPBP1의 NEDD8 결합 능력을 억제하여 세포사멸 유도 기능을 감소시키며, G2/M기 세포주기 진행을 저해합니다.
또한 DDX42와의 상호작용에 의해 세포사멸 촉진 기능이 억제됩니다.
