This 5E7 monoclonal antibody recognizes mouse B lymphocyte-induced maturation protein-1 (Blimp-1), also known as Prdm1.
Blimp-1 is a transcriptional repressor with five zinc finger domains and is expressed by terminally differentiating B and T cells, as well as some dendritic and NK cells.
It is required for B cell differentiation into plasma cells and acts as an antagonist of CD4⁺ follicular helper T cell differentiation.
Blimp-1 promotes effector molecule secretion while suppressing proliferation and functions as a transcriptional antagonist of Bcl-6.

Applications Reported: Intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested by intracellular staining of stimulated mouse splenocytes using the Foxp3/Transcription Factor Staining Buffer Set (Product #00-5523-00) and protocol.
Use ≤1.0 µg per test (defined as 100 µL final volume). Cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.
Careful titration recommended for optimal assay performance.

It acts as a transcriptional repressor required for terminal differentiation of B lymphocytes and monocyte/macrophages.
Also expressed in terminally differentiated epithelial cells, retinal neurons, and other lineage cells.
Involved in repression of IFN-beta and c-myc gene expression.
