PA1-4190 detects GPR44 from human, mouse, and rat samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blot procedures, detecting a ~66 kDa protein representing GPR44 in GPR44-transfected Jurkat cells.
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues D(329)-A(348) of human G Protein-Coupled Receptor GPR44.

Target Information

CRTH2 (GPR44) is a chemoattractant receptor-homologous molecule expressed on Th2 cells that acts as a receptor for prostaglandin D2 (PGD2).
It mediates chemotaxis of Th2 cells and eosinophils to PGD2, playing a key role in allergic responses.
CRTH2-deficient mice show enhanced eosinophil recruitment and increased IL-5 and IL-3 production, suggesting CRTH2 restricts eosinophilia and allergic response in vivo.
CRTH2 is selectively expressed in Th2 but not Th1 cells and is found in the CNS, peripheral tissues, and blood cells, particularly in activated Th2 cells.
Two transcripts (3.5 kb and 3.4 kb) have been identified with tissue-specific expression patterns.
Single nucleotide polymorphisms in the CRTH2 gene are associated with asthma susceptibility.
