Product Specific Information
The monoclonal antibody 1H1-A7 recognizes human germinal center-associated lymphoma (HGAL) protein. HGAL is expressed in germinal centers, spleen, thymus, and germinal center-derived lymphomas. It is localized to the cytoplasm of cells within the dark zone of the germinal center and functions to enhance RhoA activation, leading to negative regulation of lymphocyte motility.
HGAL expression assists in differentiating nodal marginal zone lymphoma (NMZL) from diffuse follicle center lymphoma and correlates with survival in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). The 1H1-A7 antibody also recognizes the protein product of the M17 gene, the mouse homolog of HGAL.
Applications Reported:
This antibody has been reported for use in immunoprecipitation, western blotting, immunohistochemical staining of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections, microscopy, and ELISA.
Applications Tested:
- IHC (P): Tested on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded human tissue using low pH antigen retrieval; usable at ≤5 µg/mL.
- WB: Tested on reduced human and mouse lysate; usable at ≤5 µg/mL.
Antibody titration is recommended for optimal assay performance.
Target Information
GCET2 is a protein implicated in signal transduction pathways and is upregulated in germinal cell lymphomas. It contains:
- A putative PDZ-interacting domain
- An immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motif (ITAM)
- Two putative SH2 binding sites
In B cells, its expression is specifically induced by interleukin-4. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
