• For immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
• Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

The GM-CSF gene encodes a cytokine that regulates the production, differentiation, and function of macrophages and granulocytes.
The active protein exists as a homodimer in the extracellular space.
This gene is located in a cluster at chromosome region 5q31, associated with interstitial deletions in 5q- syndrome and acute myelogenous leukemia.
Other genes in this cluster include IL-4, IL-5, and IL-13.
It plays a role in promoting tissue inflammation, and elevated levels have been observed in SARS-CoV-2 infected patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome.
Mice lacking this gene or its receptor develop pulmonary alveolar proteinosis.
