• For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
• Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.

Target Information

The GM-CSF gene encodes a cytokine that regulates the production, differentiation, and function of macrophages and granulocytes. The active form is a homodimer located in the extracellular space. This gene cluster is located at chromosome region 5q31, associated with 5q- syndrome and acute myelogenous leukemia. Other genes in this region include interleukins 4, 5, and 13. GM-CSF plays a key role in promoting tissue inflammation, and elevated levels have been observed in SARS-CoV-2 infected patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome. Mice lacking this gene or its receptor develop pulmonary alveolar proteinosis.
