Product Specific Information

The AcV1 monoclonal antibody reacts with the gp64 envelope protein of the baculovirus Autographa californica (AcMNPV).
The gp64 protein is essential for virus infectivity and is expressed on the surface of baculovirus-infected cells within six hours of infection.
This antibody is suitable for flow cytometry-based viral titration experiments and identification of virally infected insect cells.

Target Information

Baculoviruses infect invertebrates, with over 600 species described.
They primarily infect larval moth species but can also infect sawflies, mosquitoes, and shrimp.
Although capable of entering mammalian cells in culture, baculoviruses do not replicate in mammalian or other vertebrate cells.
The gp64 envelope protein is critical for viral infectivity and appears on infected cell surfaces within six hours post-infection.
