BMPR2는 골형태형성단백질(BMP) 수용체 계열에 속하는 세린/트레오닌 키나아제형 막단백질입니다. BMP 리간드는 연골내 골형성 및 발생 과정에 관여하며, BMPR2의 TCTEL1과의 상호작용 손실 및 인산화 결여는 원발성 폐고혈압(PPH)의 병태생리에 기여할 수 있습니다. 또한 BMPR2는 인간 T세포 분화에 필수적인 역할을 합니다. BMP 신호전달은 두 가지 유형의 세린(트레오닌) 키나아제 수용체 복합체를 통해 전달되며, type II 수용체는 리간드를 결합하지만 신호 전달을 위해 type I 수용체가 필요합니다. BMPR2 유전자 변이는 가족성 및 약물 관련 폐고혈압, 폐정맥폐쇄질환과 연관되어 있습니다.
