This antibody detects endogenous levels of ASK1 only when phosphorylated at Thr838 (mouse at Thr845).
Target Information
MAP3K5 (ASK1) is a serine/threonine kinase abundantly expressed in human heart and pancreas. It is activated in response to extracellular stimuli such as cytokines, growth factors, and environmental stress.
ASK1 (also known as MAPKKK5) activates MAPKKs MKK4 and MKK6, which in turn activate JNK and p38 MAP kinases. Activation occurs via TNFR and Fas through TRAF family and Daxx interaction. Overexpression induces apoptosis, while inactive ASK1 inhibits TNF-α-induced apoptosis. ASK1 is expressed in various human and mouse tissues.
