This antibody detects endogenous levels of FAK only when phosphorylated at Serine 843.
Target Information
Focal Adhesion Kinase (FAK) is a 125 kDa non-receptor protein tyrosine kinase that acts as a substrate for Src and is a key element of integrin signaling. It plays a crucial role in cell spreading, differentiation, migration, cell death, and acceleration of the G1–S phase transition. FAK localizes to focal adhesions via its C-terminal tail, mediating cell–matrix interactions through integrin receptors. Tyrosine phosphorylation of FAK increases upon integrin engagement with fibronectin, promoting association with Grb2 and c-Src, and activating ERK2 MAP kinase pathways. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
