Preparation:
Produced from sera of goats immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human NT-4. Anti-Human NT-4-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.
Sandwich ELISA:
To detect hNT-4 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human NT-4 (500-P83G) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant hNT-4.
Western Blot:
To detect hNT-4 by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. When used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant hNT-4 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information
This gene is a member of a family of neurotrophic factors, neurotrophins, that control survival and differentiation of mammalian neurons. The expression of this gene is ubiquitous and less influenced by environmental signals. While knock-outs of other neurotrophins including nerve growth factor, brain-derived neurotrophic factor, and neurotrophin 3 prove lethal during early postnatal development, NTF5-deficient mice only show minor cellular deficits and develop normally to adulthood.
