Product Specific Information
Store vial at –20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at –20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
This affinity-purified antibody is directed against human GGA3 protein. BLAST analysis suggests reactivity with human and chimpanzee GGA3 based on 100% sequence homology. Cross-reactivity may occur with macaque (93% homology) and orangutan (87% homology). The immunizing sequence is present on both the long (isoform 1) and short (isoform 2) transcript variants of this protein.
Target Information
The GGA3 gene encodes a member of the Golgi-localized, gamma adaptin ear-containing, ARF-binding family. These coat proteins regulate trafficking of proteins between the trans-Golgi network and lysosome. They contain an amino-terminal VHS domain for sorting mannose 6-phosphate receptors and a carboxy-terminal region homologous to the ear domain of gamma-adaptins. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified.
